December 6, 2007 (Boca Raton, FL) Accrisoft Corporation, a leading provider of web empowerment software for small and medium sized organizations, announced today that the Riverdale YM-YWHA of Riverdale, New York (www.riverdaley.org) Accrisoft-powered website has been named JCC Website of the Month for November 2007 by the JCC Association of North America (JCCA). The JCCA, which represents more than 350 JCCs and Jewish Ys across the continent, announced the honor October 31, 2007 to all agency Board presidents, executive directors, and marketing directors.“The JCC Association is eager to encourage JCCs to make their websites more functional and dynamic,” said JCC Association Senior Vice-president, Marketing and Communications, Robin Ballin, “and the JCC Site of the Month is one way to do that. We believe that the web is the future of communications for JCCs, and we appreciate Accrisoft’s role in helping JCCs effectively connect with their audiences.”The Riverdale YM-YWHA is a multi-generational agency that provides informal education, leisure-time activities, and social services to meet the recreational, social, and cultural needs of the Jewish and general community in the Riverdale area.
The Riverdale Y's stated mission is to provide a "town square" for Riverdale's community, connecting people to people, people to community, and people to faith. The agency has worked to strengthen Jewish identity, family life, and survival, while reinforcing Jewish cultural values and enriching the life of the Jewish community since 1909. One way that the Riverdale Y is reaching out to engage the community is through its website, which has recently experienced a significant transformation.According to Riverdale Y Managing Director of Communications and External Affairs, Marti Michael, the impact of the new website has been significant. "The new Accrisoft powered website has completely changed the way we do business. Our previous website contained only static pages and was not interactive. The updates we've made with Accrisoft Freedom software have turned our website into our single most important communications tool."
Michael adds, "People have learned very quickly to go to the website to find out about what's happening at the Y. They don't even wait for a brochure—they check the website first. The community is actively using the site and we’re getting a tremendous amount of positive feedback. It really has been revolutionary for us. In the future, I can see us saving money by doing fewer mailings and printing fewer collateral materials. For example, all of the information from our program guide is listed on the website, and while the website hasn't eliminated the paper program guide yet, I can see that happening."
Marketing Strategy Consultant, Ron Poole-Dayan, who, on behalf of the Riverdale Y, worked with Accrisoft Corporation to facilitate the conversion and is responsible for its ongoing metamorphosis and maintenance, notes, "I have a broad perspective in web development and management and extensive experience working with several different content management software systems for all types of corporations. We are very happy with Accrisoft Freedom software. It's flexible, offers the right options for structured content entry and it's easy for content contributors who are not comfortable with coding, styling and formatting to use. At the same time, it provides more sophisticated users with lots of flexibility and scalability in the sense that you have complete freedom to use as many options as you want to."
