SARASOTA, FL (May 2011) – Accrisoft and the Sarasota County Technical Institute (SCTI) have joined forces to enhance the educational experience of students in the school’s Digital & Multimedia Design Program.
Accrisoft was invited to teach students in the program about building websites and implementing content management systems, which are critical skills for the web designers of the future. Lessons were taught by Accrisoft Product Trainers once per week during the semester.
“I knew that this was a vital piece of the puzzle for students looking to make it in the world of graphic design,” said April Irwin, SCTI Digital and Multimedia Design instructor. “We did some research, and Accrisoft clearly had an excellent system, as well as good training and support.”
Accrisoft was delighted at the opportunity to teach their software to students. “It was an exciting opportunity for us,” said Mary Houston, Customer Relations Manager at Accrisoft, “both as a means to bring our software to a new audience and to provide a test case for training new users—to see what works and what doesn’t.”
Products like Accrisoft Freedom™ play a critical role for graphic designers and web developers. “Often, the problem with this type of program is that it doesn’t teach students how to build websites for real-world clients,” said Irwin. “A pretty design is only part of the big picture. Accrisoft Freedom is the type of tool that will give our students an advantage when it comes to vying for jobs in this competitive industry.”
“The program was a great success,” Houston said. “We learned as much as the students did. We’re already looking forward to next year.”
