Adding or Changing Content

The Add or Change Content section of the Quick Start lets you add and edit content for the website. The Quick Start module, unlike the other module, automatically ties content to items on the Main navigational menu. This makes it easy to quickly add new web pages and collections of items to the website without having to manually add menu links in the Menu module.

Add button
The Add button lets you add new content to the website. When you use this button to add content, a new menu option appears on the main navigational menu that navigates to the new content. The types of content you can add to the website through the Quick Start module depend on the modules the system administrator has configured for your site.If you add a new web page, a menu item links directly to that page. If you add a new news article, event list, photo album, or other similar item, the menu item links to a list of items. Note that when you add content that displays a list of items, you are essentially creating a new category for its associated module, and creating a menu item that links to that category of items.

Rename button
The Rename button lets you change the text of the currently selected menu item. Note that when you rename a menu item, none of the content that the menu item links to is changed. To change the content to match the menu item, click the Change Content button and make the appropriate changes to the item.

Delete
The Delete button lets you either delete the currently selected menu item or the menu item and all its associated content. When you click this button, the system prompts you to either delete just the menu item or the menu item and all its content. If you choose to delete only the menu item, you will need to create a link somewhere that will enable visitors to navigate to the content. Usually, links that are not in the menu are links that appear within the content of another item on the website, such as a web page.

Move Up / Move Down buttons
The Move Up / Move Down buttons let you move the currently selected menu item up or down one spot on the menu. Each time you move a menu item, the system automatically saves this change and the menu on the live website reflects this change to website visitors.

View button
The View button lets you view the content of the currently selected menu item on the live website. If you already have a browser window opened for the live website, the system will display the content for the menu item in this window. If you do not have a browser window opened for the live website, the system will open a new window and display the content of the menu item in that window.

Change Content button
The Change Content button lets you add or modify content for the currently selected menu item. If the item is a webpage, the system simply displays the content of the page so you can make changes to the content. If the menu item links to content that contains multiple items, such as a list of news articles, events, or photos, the system displays a screen that lists all the content, from which you can add new items, edit existing items, or delete items from this menu item content.
