Creating custom email notifications for Proposals

The Searches tab allows you to create custom email notifications that alert members when specific types of jobs are posted to the site. The system can send an email notification when any project of a certain category is posted, or when specified keywords are used.

To add a new search, take the following steps:

  1. In the Description field, enter a basic description of the search. This will make it easier to locate the search if there is a list of many searches stored in the system.
    From the member dropdown list, select the member who is to be notified by email when specified projects are posted. This list includes members configured using the Membership module.
  2. In the Search Keywords field, include a set of keywords for the search. If any of these keywords are included in a posted project, the member will be notified via email. Keywords should be separated by a comma; if no keywords are entered in this field, all projects will be included in the search.
  3. In the Search Category field, specify a category for the search. If a project is posted in this category, the member will be notified via email. If the Keywords field is left blank and a category is selected, a notification will be sent any time a project is posted to the selected category.
  4. Click Save to save the search. Members will now be notified when a project is posted that corresponds to the specified settings.
