Creating URL aliases

Apr 26, 2014 7:49 pm

URL aliases are URLs with short, simple names that redirect to a specified page on a website. These are useful because they usually look neater than full URLs and are easier to remember. Rather than telling people to visit, for example, you could tell them to visit The short URL in this example would direct visitors to the longer one.

To set up a URL alias:

  1. Go to the Configuration Module, Human Readable URLs tab.
  2. Click the Create a URL Alias button.
  3. Enter a name in the Alias Name field.
  4. You can either manually enter a URL in the URL field or use the Link Wizard by clicking the Change/Add button. Click here for information on using the Link Wizard.
  5. Click Save.
