Just to add a little bit of detail about the changes between 9.2 and 9.4:
The Image Manager was implemented in version 9.2. Images in the Image Manager couldn't be put into folders, but rather we used tags to organize them, and also provided the ability to name images. However, those tags and names were for internal organization only, and didn't appear on the live website. The key feature of the Image Manager was the fact that when you uploaded a picture, the system automatically created four versions of the image in predefined sizes (small, medium, large and original).
In the Image Manager, you could tag and name images, but on the live website, the image references were numbers, i.e.
After speaking with a lot of users, we found that they preferred the folder structure for organizing images rather than tags, so in 9.4, we took the most important feature of the Image Manager (the auto-creation of four image sizes) and built this into the File Manager, which lets users organize images into folders, and name the files whatever they want. However, this meant that users would no longer have the ability to tag images or give them internal names.
Images that were in the Image Manager were copied to the File Manager in 9.4, in the /clientuploads/imagemanager folder.
One thing we can do to help you is to create copies of all of the Image Manager images after the 9.4 upgrade and rename them to their original image names, which were preserved in the database. These images can be organized into folders, and then references throughout the site can be updated to point to these new images, but because they're copies, references that aren't updated will not break. However, the ability to tag images is not available in 9.4, and we do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
