Let users sign up to email marketing subscriber lists through white-facing forms.
Recently we had a support ticket from an SP who wondered if it was possible to let users visiting the site sign up for an email marketing subscribers category. Luckily, the setup is quite easy - the steps are listed below.
1. Ensure that you have at least one email marketing category.
To do so navigate to Silver > Email Marketing > Categories. Add at least one category.
2. Set up a blue form with the proper fields. You only need two fields to make this work - the first is the standard email field that you are no doubt familiar with if you have worked with the Contact Us form at any point in time.
Navigate to Blue > Forms > Web Forms tab. Add a new form.
Add a new field with a field type of Email Marketing. Set the ID to 'Category'. Set the Input Method to Checkbox or Combobox. Click Save.
Add another new field. This time set the field type to Standard, the ID to Email, and the Input method to Textbox.
3. Now go to the form on the live site. Fill out the fields and click submit.
You will find that the Email Marketing's Subscriber's tab has been updated with the information that you entered on the live site.
