Purging Email Addresses

People can sign up to receive emails from us and we use Mandrill to help us monitor these email addresses. Each month, I run a report of the Hard Bounces and the Spam Complaints (why they mark us as spam when THEY signed up, I'll never know...) and I remove these email addresses from my system. I prefer to delete them completely so that the client can resubscribe without problem later down the road if they decide we're not spam after all. I also prefer to delete them completely because the owner of the company likes to look at the total number of emails and never remembers to deduct "Invalid" email addresses when running his stats.

About 2 months ago, our Accrisoft Blue version was updated by our IT guys. I can not, for the life of me, find the page that we used to use to purge records. Has it been removed? Or is it just hiding somewhere?

In newer versions of Freedom you can bulk delete Subscribers from a list based on their status by following these steps:

1) Go to > Silver > Email Marketing > Subscribers

2) Click on the Reports icon in the table's toolbar > Settings

3) Create a New Filter for > Status --> Is --> Invalid > Save

4) Select each Email you want to delete or click on the "Select All" Checkbox to select all the emails based on your filter > Click the Delete Button


To purge all Bounced or Opted Out Emails you can do so by following these steps:

1) Go to > Silver > Email Marketing > Subscribers > Blacklist sub-tab > Select All Emails > Purge

Hello and thank you!

Question: In that final screenshot (Silver > Email Marketing > Subscribers > Blacklist sub-tab > Select All Emails > Purge), your screen shows that "Purge" button but mine does not. The "Purge" button does not show before OR after I select any email addresses. Is there a way to make that button appear?

Can you please provide the website that you're having trouble seeing the Purge button?

The Purge Feature is a Feature that was added in Freedom Version 10.6.000. Currently, your site is running 10.4.002. If you are looking to delete Invalid Email addresses you will need to use the first method in this forum post for Deleting Invalid members using a Report.

Otherwise, you can contact your Solution Provider, Thrive, to request your site to be upgraded to the latest Production Version of Freedom, 10.6.000 to get the new Purge feature within the Email Marketing > Blacklist Tab.
