New Personal Site: Skunk.guru

Oct 30, 2014 3:22 pm

I recently moved my blog/site (Skunk.Guru) over to Freedom, based on the Accricenter theme.

I used a custom directory to populate all of the information to create a legality map using Google's Geochart Visualization Library: http://skunk.guru/main/skunk-legality-map/

Along with that I am utilizing a custom directory lister to keep track of and display Skunk Friendly vets within my area. I plan on expanding this to allow visitors to vote and comment on the different vets as well. http://skunk.guru/vet-lists/

Hi Kalis, I love the site! Especially like the legality map directory - I could see us using a similar solution for a need on an existing client's website. Any way that could be uploaded to the ecosystem and made available for others to use?

Hey Kalis, how did you get the login module to be in the middle of the webpage?

Hi Brian,

I could upload it, but with the way that it is set up it would likely not be very helpful (it has fields that are very specific to this implementation.) However, what I can do is take some screenshots and write up an post on exactly what I did to create the directory to help you in creating your own if you would like.

DeployAdmin:

Are you talking about the login box in the middle of the footer?? If so, that is an embedded login layout in one of the theme's containers.

If you are talking about the "Login to Leave a Review" section on the vet list, that is using a bit of coding in the comments control layout. It has two ifs in the layout that you can change from if 0 to if 1 when login is required. After that it will automatically add a login form for you.
