Understanding why a website is displaying strange characters
If your website is displaying strange characters, you may need to adjust your character encoding. If you've ever seen "’" or one of these - - in place of an apostrophe, copyright symbol or different character, then your website might have an encoding issue.
Browser need your webpage to include a character set (charset) to display the content of your webpage correctly. The two most common charsets are UTF-8 and iso-8859-1.
Accrisoft Freedom, by default, will use iso-8859-1 because it is the most widely used charset in the United States. If you see strange characters or symbols on your website, open your Page Layouts in the Green Interface of your site to verify the charset.
If this doesn't solve the problem, it's also possible that some characters haven't pasted correctly from another program. Try deleting those characters and reentering them manually into the Text Editor.
