In our latest blog series, we’re sharing the Top Website Design Trends of 2020. We know that nonprofits, associations, and real estate associations work hard to continuously keep and attract new members. Your website should be a resource that helps your organization grow. One way to improve member engagement is with a great online experience. We hope that these website design trends inspire you and offer some new ideas of elements that can be used on your nonprofit’s site.
We’ve enjoyed sharing these top design trend articles so much that we wanted to share a bonus article to wrap up the series. In this post, we are going to share simplistic examples of two of the most important features on a website, Menus and Forms.
Sometimes less is more, and we are seeing this trend with minimalist navigation and clear call-to-actions.
The hamburger menu, the icon with three horizontal stripes, opens up into a menu when it’s clicked. This design component is featured predominantly on mobile website design but is becoming widely used on desktop, too.
Online forms are an important part of every website. From collecting contact and delivery information to signups, and registrations, these forms are an integral piece to website functionality and design.
However, we all have come across forms that feel like a chore to fill out. One simple way to ensure a great user experience is to expand a form so it takes up more space on the page. This layout makes the form more inviting to interact with. Another way to see more forms filled out is by adding in micro-interactions that are responsive in real-time. Simple design changes such as showing that a field has been filled in or by adding in feedback messages for users are two examples that can bring about a successful form submission.
