The temporary closure of health and fitness centers due to COVID-19 has brought opportunities for organizations to get innovative with how they offer programs to members. Many Jewish Community Centers have opted to stream virtual activities, which is an extremely creative and engaging way to interact with members until their doors can reopen.
We wanted to showcase what a Virtual J on your JCC website would look like. Below is an example from Barshop Jewish Community Center of San Antonio.
Creating a Virtual J home page is the first step in launching this program. This is where members will be able to find the schedule of live streaming activities, facility updates and information on how to stay connected while safe social distancing.
Most of your members are used to finding a schedule of activities listed on your website, so this feature offers a sense of familiarity to them. Users can filter by instructor to see when they are offering classes or they can search by day.
If you already use the Online Group Ex scheduler module, it's a great repurpose for virtual classes. Otherwise, we’ve also found it works just as well to use your Events module to post your schedule. For a quick and easy option, upload a PDF of your schedule.
If your JCC uses Freedom Software, you can utilize the Virtual Classes list to hyperlink external links. Members can easily search a type of activity and click the link to view the class/activity. Virtual Classes can be categorized by sports & fitness, youth & family, visual arts & culture, senior activities & resources and Israeli culture.
If your JCC is interested in launching a Virtual J on your website, please reach out to us by clicking the button below. Someone from Accrisoft will be in contact with you.
